Product Design & 3D Printing
1 hour a day | Grades 6-12 | Duration 10 days
OVERVIEW
Product design is a way to transform simple ideas into tangible products that aim to improve everyday life. This combines design, science, technology and art to create something innovative and sustainable. In this course, you will learn to design a series of simple products using a professional CAD software, OnShape.
These models will be created from a 3D printing perspective – an evolving technology that is used to build complex parts instantly. In the second phase of the course you will be challenged to come up with an imaginative product through ideation, concept generation and CAD modelling. Your final product will then be optimized for 3D printing in terms of material use, time and quality.

Student Project
Devansh (class 10) designed a modular planter, made of multiple permuto-hedrons. These parts interlock in a 3D grid, and can be stacked on top of each other.
Student Project
modelling the product using spline, revolve, intersect and
combine features.
